Managing Investment Transactions on the Mobile App

Learn how to add and manage Investment Transactions on the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App

Written by Natalie

Overview

With Investment Transactions, you can now manage the individual transactions for your investments, including the ability to perform Transfers to and from your Investment Accounts, as well as the ability to track commissions on buys and sells.

Things to Note:

  • Investment Transactions are only available in individual investment accounts; you will not see investment transactions in the Investments section on the Mobile App.

  • Investment transactions do not interact with your investment portfolio or account balances in any way. These transactions are designed as behind-the-scenes scenarios that allow you to manage and track your individual investment transactions without affecting your actual portfolio value.

  • Investment Transactions will not impact the Balance Over Time feature or the Performance Over Time feature.

  • Investment transactions are automatically excluded from reports. You can only change the visibility settings for the “Payment/Deposit” transactions. All other investment transaction types, such as 'Buys' and 'Sells', will always be excluded.

Transfer From and To Investment Accounts

You can use Linked Transfers with your investment transactions, allowing you to move money to and from your investment accounts. If you want to use your investment account as the source account, follow these steps:

Note: To use an investment transaction as a transfer, it must be of type “Payment/Deposit”.

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Locate the investment account with the transaction you'd like to use as a transfer, then tap it.

  4. Select the Transactions tab.

  5. In the transaction details, tap on the Category field.

  6. Select Transfer at the top.

  7. Select the destination account.

  8. Tap Update.

Once you save the linked transfer transaction, Quicken Simplifi will look for a matching transaction on the destination account. If no matching transaction exists, you’ll be prompted to create the new transaction for the destination account.

If your investment account is the destination account, please refer to the Managing Linked Transfers guide for detailed steps.
