Overview
With most of us shopping online these days, we know how hard it is to keep track of all of the items you've returned and when you should expect to receive the refund. Let Quicken Simplifi do that for you!
Quicken Simplifi makes it easy to stay on top of refunds by letting you record them as pending. This way, you can see what’s owed to you and keep your budget realistic until the money arrives. Once the refund clears, you can match it to the transaction and close the loop.
Tracking a Refund
Tap the Menu (three-line icon).
Select Bills & Income and then select the Refunds tab at the top.
Tap the blue Track a Refund button.
Enter the payee, amount, and expected date of the refund, then select the account and category for the refund.
You can also add a note or an attachment.
Tap Submit when done.
Link a Refund to a Transaction
While Quicken Simplifi does a great job linking your downloaded transactions to your expected refunds, there are occasions when you may need to link them manually.
Note: Manually entered transactions cannot be linked to refunds at this time.
Tap the Menu (three-line icon).
Select Bills & Income and then select the Refunds tab at the top.
Locate the Refund you'd like to link and tap on it.
Select Mark as Received.
Locate the transaction you'd like to link the Refund to and tap on it.
Click Apply in the upper-right corner.
Quicken Simplifi will link the downloaded transaction to the expected refund and update the transaction details, such as the Payee and Category, to what was provided in the Refund.
Unlink a Refund from a Transaction
Tap the Menu (three-line icon).
Select Bills & Income and then select the Refunds tab at the top.
Locate the Refund you'd like to unlink and tap on it.
Select Mark as Not Received.
Click Continue to confirm.
Once unlinked, Quicken Simplifi will revert any changes made to the Payee and Category at the time of linking.
Edit or Delete a Refund
Tap the Menu (three-line icon).
Select Bills & Income and then select the Refunds tab at the top.
Locate the Refund you'd like to edit or delete and tap on it.
Select the pencil icon in the upper-right corner.
To edit the Refund, make the necessary changes, then tap Save when done.
From the same screen, to delete the Refund, scroll down and tap Delete. Confirm your choice by tapping Delete once more.
