Link Transactions to Reminders in the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App

Overview

Managing your finances can feel a lot smoother when your expected transactions—like rent, subscriptions, or utility bills—are already accounted for. That's where Quicken Simplifi detects your recurring transactions and creates a series of them. These series serve as grouped reminders, allowing you to view upcoming transactions easily. Your Reminders list will show up at the Bills & Income tab, or at the top of the Transactions view.

Quicken Simplifi automatically links your newly downloaded transactions to the reminders, and it usually does a great job. However, there are times when some transactions are linked incorrectly.

Note: Quicken Simplifi only shows your most recent overdue reminder for recurring bills. The outdated reminder is deleted when the next scheduled reminder comes up.


Link a Downloaded Transaction to a Reminder

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Select the account where the reminder occurs.

  4. In the Reminders section at the top, locate the reminder you'd like to link and tap on it.

  5. Select Link to Transaction.

  6. Locate the matching transaction and tap on it.
    Note: Manual transactions will not be listed here. If you want to link a manual transaction to a Reminder, please follow the steps in the section below.

  7. Tap Apply.

Once linked, Quicken Simplifi will remove the Recurring Reminder from the Bills & Income view and match it to the downloaded transaction. The Payee and Category of the transaction will also be updated to match the details of the Reminder.

Note: If you'd like to link a manual transaction to a Reminder, it must be done from the transaction directly following the steps below.


Link a Manual Transaction to a Reminder

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Select the account where the transaction occurred.

  4. Locate the transaction you'd like to link and tap on it.

  5. Use the Mark as a bill or recurring toggle.

  6. Select Link to existing recurring.

  7. Locate the associated Recurring Series and select it.


Unlink a Transaction From a Reminder

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Select the account where the transaction occurred.

  4. Locate the transaction you'd like to unlink and tap on it.

  5. Next to Series, tap the Unlink symbol (a chain link with a line through it).

  6. Select Update.

When the reminder is unlinked from the transaction, it will reappear in the Bills & income view. Any changes made to the transaction's category or payee during linking will be undone as well.
