Overview

If you're having trouble finding specific transactions in Quicken Simplifi, the Search and Filter tools can help you quickly narrow down your results.

While both tools are designed to help locate transactions, they serve different purposes and can be used separately or together for more precise results. The sections below explain how to use filters and search options to find the transactions you're looking for.

What’s the Difference Between Search and Filters?

Search allows you to quickly locate transactions by entering a specific keyword, amount, or date. It works best when you already know a detail about the transaction you're looking for, such as a merchant name, memo text, or transaction date.

Filters help you narrow down transactions by applying specific criteria, such as account, category, amount, date, or payee. They are especially useful when you know multiple details about the transactions you're looking for and want to refine your results.

How to Search Transactions

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Tap Transactions.

  3. Enter your search term in the Search Transactions bar.

Note: When using the search bar, you can only use one search term at once.

How to Filter Transactions

  1. Tap the Menu (three-line icon).

  2. Tap Transactions.

  3. Tap the Advanced Filter icon located next to the Search Transactions field.

You can filter transactions by date range, including the last 30 days and other available time periods. You can also sort transactions by status (such as Pending to Cleared), date (newest to oldest or oldest to newest), or amount (highest to lowest or lowest to highest).

To further refine your results, you can filter by category, payee, tag, flag, or account, making it easier to locate specific transactions.

For more advanced filtering, Quicken Simplifi lets you filter transactions based on whether they are associated with Bills & Subscriptions, are included or excluded from the Spending Plan, or have been marked as Reviewed or Not Reviewed.
