How to Link Accounts on the Mobile App

Learn how to link accounts on the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App

Written by Natalie

Overview

When connecting or reconnecting an account, Quicken Simplifi may find an account that already exists in your Quicken Simplifi file. Linking the accounts helps prevent duplicate accounts and keeps your existing transaction history and balance information together.

This article explains how to link accounts in the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App.

Link an Account to an Existing Account

After entering your financial institution credentials, Quicken Simplifi will display the accounts it finds. For each account, you'll see the account name, account number, account type, and the action Quicken Simplifi plans to take.

Review each account carefully and make sure it is linked to the correct existing account. Selecting Nothing (Add as new) when the account already exists can create a duplicate account. Linking it to the wrong account can also result in incorrect transactions or balances.

To link the found accounts to your existing accounts, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the pencil icon next to the account.

  2. Tap the Link to drop-down menu.

  3. Select the existing account you want to link to.

  4. Tap Update, then tap Confirm.

Relink a Manual Account

If you previously converted an account to manual mode and Simplifi says that all accounts have already been added when you try to reconnect it, you may need to remove the financial institution from Simplifi and revoke its access before reconnecting.

  1. Tap the Menu icon

  2. Select Settings and then Accounts.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and check if the financial institution is still listed.

  4. If the financial institution is still listed, tap the three-dot next to it, then tap Delete Institution.

Note: Delete the financial institution from Settings > Accounts before revoking Quicken Simplifi's access on the financial institution's website. This helps Quicken Simplifi establish a new connection so you can relink your existing accounts.

If the financial institution uses an OAuth API connection:

Before reconnecting, sign in to the financial institution's website and revoke Quicken Simplifi's access. Then return to Quicken Simplifi and follow these steps:

  1. Return to Quicken Simplifi and tap the + New.

  2. Search for and select your financial institution.

  3. Enter your online banking credentials and complete any required verification.

  4. When your accounts appear, link each one to its existing manual account.

  5. Complete the connection process.
