How to Recategorize a Transaction

Learn how to change Categories assigned by Quicken Simplifi.

Written by Nicole

Overview

Quicken Simplifi automatically categorizes your transactions using smart logic and nearby payee data, and it usually does a great job. However, there are times when some transactions are categorized incorrectly. Whether it’s groceries categorized as “Shopping” or a paycheck missing its “Income” category, Simplifi gives you the tools to recategorize any transaction in just a few clicks.

Note: You can use the transaction Rules feature to help ensure the right Category is assigned every time. Learn more about this helpful feature in How to Use Transaction Rules.
