Overview
Expense Receipts lets you capture, upload, and manage business expense receipts directly in Quicken Business & Personal. Available receipt details are extracted automatically, making it easier to organize your expenses and keep your records up to date.
Note: This feature is currently available only to users with Early Access enabled.
Upload an Expense Receipt
Hover over the left sidebar and select Expense Receipts.
Click Browse Files, or drag and drop the receipt into the upload area.
Select the receipt you want to upload, then click Open.
Add an Expense Receipt to a transaction
After uploading the receipt, you can either create a new transaction or attach it to an existing transaction.
Create a new transaction
Click the three-dot menu next to the receipt.
Select Create New Transaction.
Quicken scans the receipt and automatically fills in any available details.
Review the information and make any necessary changes.
Click Create.
The expense receipt is now attached to the transaction and appears in the Reviewed section.
Attach to existing transaction
Click the three-dot menu next to the receipt.
Select Attach to Existing Transaction.
Search for and select the transaction
Quicken Simplifi lets you search by date, payee, or amount to quickly find the correct transaction.
Click Attach Transaction.
The expense receipt is now attached to the transaction and appears in the Reviewed section.
Create Transaction Splits from your Receipt
After a receipt has been used to create a new transaction or attached to an existing one, you can automatically generate split transactions from the receipt details to help organize your expenses.
In the transaction details, click Create Splits from Receipt Items.
Assign the appropriate category to each split.
Click Continue when you're finished.
Review the information and click Update.
Detach a Receipt from a Transaction
Follow the steps below to remove a receipt from a transaction:
Click the three-dot menu next to the receipt.
Click Detach receipt.
Click Detach to confirm.
After you detach the receipt from the transaction, it will move to the Needs Review section.
Delete a Receipt
Follow the steps below to remove a receipt:
Click the three-dot menu next to the receipt.
Click Delete.
Click Delete to confirm.
