Add a Business from Your Dashboard in Quicken Business & Personal

Learn How to Add a Business from the Dashboard

Written by Dora R

Overview

We are introducing an updated dashboard view designed specifically for users who have not yet registered a business in Quicken Business & Personal. To streamline onboarding, a prominent, simplified setup option will now be featured at the top of the dashboard, making it easier than ever for customers to get started.

When you first access the Business Dashboard, you'll see a Business Setup card that serves as a guided checklist. As you complete each step, additional tasks will be unlocked to help you continue setting up your business. The process begins by adding your business.

Add a Business

From the Get Your Business Up and Running section, click Add Business. Enter your business information and complete the setup process. Once your business has been added, the next task in the checklist will become available, guiding you through additional setup steps, such as adding a client.

If you exit the setup flow before completing it, you can resume it at any time from the Business Setup card on the Dashboard.

Once a step is completed, it will move to the end of the checklist on the Dashboard card and be marked with a green checkmark to indicate that it has been completed.

Users can click the X in the upper-right corner of any checklist item to dismiss it and remove it from the banner. The only exception is the Add Business task, which cannot be dismissed until it has been completed.

Note: If a business has not yet been added, the Business Setup card will remain at the top of the Dashboard and cannot be removed or hidden through the Customize Dashboard option.

Business Cards

In the Dashboard view, you'll find new business-focused cards designed to provide quick access to key information and insights for customers who use Quicken primarily to manage and track their business finances.

These business-focused Dashboard cards include Business Profit & Loss, Tax Planner, Invoices Overview, Top Products & Services, and Recent Trips. Each card is designed to help you monitor different aspects of your business finances at a glance.

In Customize Dashboard, selecting Reset to Defaults will automatically disable the Spending Plan, Savings Goals, Watchlist, and Credit Score cards. You can re-enable these cards at any time and rearrange them to suit your preferred Dashboard layout.

Note: The Business Profit & Loss card displays a fixed 6-month view, which cannot be customized. If you click the card to open the full Profit & Loss Report, the information shown there may differ because any report customizations you previously made will still be applied and will persist regardless of how you access the report.
