How to Export Transactions from Quicken Simplifi

Learn how to download your transactions to a CSV file

Written by Natalie

Overview

Quicken Simplifi makes it easy to take your data with you by offering a simple way to export your transactions. Currently, the only available export format is CSV (Comma-Separated Values), which is compatible with most spreadsheet applications like Excel and Google Sheets. This format allows you to view, organize, and analyze your financial activity outside of Simplifi—perfect for budgeting, reporting, or sharing with your financial advisor.

Before You Begin

Typically, Quicken Simplifi exports all transactions displayed in the Transactions view, so before you start exporting transactions, we’d like to share some tips to ensure your exported data is clean and relevant.

How to Apply Filters to the Transactions View

Filters help you export only what you need. If you're looking to just export transactions with certain criteria, such as a specific date range, category, or payee, you can easily do it by following the next steps:

  1. Hover over the left panel and click Transactions.

  2. Select the account you'd like to export from.

  3. Click the filter icon in the upper-right corner of the Transactions view.

  4. Apply the filters you want to the transactions you plan to export.

  5. Click the Apply button to save the filters.

Note: For advanced filtering, see our article on Searching and Filtering Transactions in Quicken Simplifi.

How to Collapse Months in the Transactions View

To export transactions from a specific month, you can collapse all other months in the view. This makes it easier to select only the transactions you want and avoid exporting data from other months.

You can collapse or expand a month by clicking the drop-down arrow next to it.

How to Export Split Transactions

Split transactions are not exported by default. To export split transactions, follow the next steps:

  1. Click the gear icon on the far right of all the transaction columns.

  2. Scroll down and select Show split transactions (last option).

This displays each split as its own line, so the exported file keeps the details for each entry.

Export Transactions from a Single Account

  1. Hover over the left panel and click Transactions.

  2. Select the account you'd like to export from.

  3. Select transactions or apply filters if needed.

  4. Click the download arrow (arrow pointing down) in the upper right.

    • Note: Users with Early Access enabled: Your Transaction view may look different. For more details, click here.

Export Transactions from Multiple Accounts

  1. Hover over the left panel and click Transactions.

  2. Select Banking.

  3. Click the filter icon in the upper-right corner of the Transactions view.

  4. Select Account, then place a check mark in the box to the left of each account you'd like to export from.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Select transactions or apply more filters if needed.

  7. Click the download arrow (arrow pointing down) in the upper right.

    • Note: Users with Early Access enabled: Your Transaction view may look different. For more details, click here.
