Overview
The Mileage Tracker in Quicken Business & Personal makes it easy to track your business and personal mileage. Keeping your mileage organized can help you stay prepared for tax time.
How Does It Work?
The Mileage Tracker offers two ways to log your miles:
Trip Details: Log individual trips by entering the starting location, destination, and distance traveled.
Miles Only: Enter the total miles driven in one step, which is useful if you track your mileage elsewhere.
After logging your miles, you can:
View all mileage entries and a running total.
See the total distance driven for business and personal trips.
View mileage totals for each business or your personal trips.
See mileage totals calculated using the current IRS mileage rate.
Filter your mileage by Business or Personal.
Use the Time Period filter to view mileage for a specific date range.

Set Up Mileage for the Taxes Report
To include your tracked mileage in the Taxes report, click the car icon in the upper-right corner, then select the method that applies to your vehicle expenses:
Standard Mileage: Track your business miles and calculate the deduction using the current IRS mileage rate. You can also deduct eligible parking and toll expenses.
Actual Vehicle Expenses: Calculate the deduction based on the business-use portion of your actual vehicle expenses, such as gas, maintenance, and insurance. Only include expenses related to business use.
Once you select a mileage method, your tracked mileage will be included in the Taxes report, making it easier to review your mileage deduction when preparing your taxes.
Note: Including mileage in the Taxes report is currently available only in the web app. This feature is not yet available in the mobile app.
