Overview
If you’re having trouble locating specific transactions in Quicken Simplifi, there are two powerful tools that can help: Search and Filters.
Each works differently and is best suited for different needs, helping you quickly locate the exact transactions you’re looking for. In the sections below, we’ll walk you through how to adjust filters and use search formulas so you can narrow your results.
What's the difference between searching and filtering?
Search is a quick keyword tool that finds any transaction containing the word or date you type, making it best for fast lookups like “Amazon”, “Trip", or "12/17/2023". It is ideal when you know just one detail of what you're looking for.
Filters let you build precise rules to narrow your list using Columns, Operators, and Values rules when filtering. It is ideal when you have exact details of what you're looking for and want to apply multiple conditions at the same time to find exact matches, such as “Expenses between $50–$200”.
How to Search Transactions
Hover over the left panel and click Transactions.
Click the search bar on the right of the Transactions Activity view.
Type the search term in the search bar.
Note: When using the search bar, you can only use one search term at once.
