Overview

Tags allow you to group related transactions β€” even if they fall under different categories β€” for easier tracking and reporting. For example, you can tag all vacation-related expenses (gas, hotel, restaurants, etc.) to view the total cost in a Spending Report.

Create a Tag

Quicken Simplifi includes a few built-in tags, but you can also create your own as needed.

  1. Locate the transaction you'd like to add a Tag to, hover over it, then click the three dots at the end of it.

  2. Select Edit transaction.

  3. Click on the Tags field and type in the Name of the Tag.

  4. Click Create in the menu that appears.

  5. Click Update when you are finished adding Tags.

You can also create a new Tag through the Settings Menu:

  1. Hover over the panel on the left-hand side and select Settings.

  2. Select Categories & tags.

  3. Click the blue + Tags button in the upper right.

  4. Assign the Tag a Name and click Enter on your keyboard to save the Tag.
Note: You can also select the plus (+) sign at the end of the new Tag Name to save it.

  5. Click Update.

Edit a Tag

Excluding Tags associated with Savings Goals, you will be able to edit the name of the tag.

  1. Hover over the panel on the left-hand side and select Settings.

  2. Select Categories & tags.

  3. Locate the Tag you'd like to edit and click on it.

  4. Make the necessary adjustments and click Enter on your keyboard when done.

Note: You can also select the blue checkmark at the end of the Tag Name to save it.

  5. Click Update.

Delete a Tag

Excluding Tags associated with Savings Goals, you can easily delete tags you don't need!

  1. Hover over the panel on the left-hand side and select Settings.

  2. Select Categories & tags.

  3. Hover over the Tag you'd like to delete and click the X at the end of it.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.

Note: When you delete a Tag, it will be removed from any transactions it was used on, but the transactions themselves will still exist.
