Overview
You already know that Quicken Simplifi can help you quickly and easily keep track of all of your past transactions. But did you know that Quicken Simplifi lets you preview your future activity as well? The Bills & Income section shows you at a glance all of your scheduled bills and income Reminders for the designated time range. You can view past-due items, manage recurring transactions, and check your combined cash flow—all in one place.
Note: The Bills and Income section was formerly known as "Bills & Payments".
Using the Bills & Income 'Overview' Tab
You can access the Bills & Income section by hovering over the left panel and selecting Bills & Income. Once there, you'll see that the Overview page is broken down into four different parts:
Summary provides you with a net amount after all of your Reminders for the designated time range are calculated.
Reminders shows you all of your upcoming Reminders for the designated time range, including future-dated transactions and expected Refunds.
Past Due displays all Reminders that are overdue.
A monthly calendar that displays dots for all of your upcoming Reminders, and provides a tooltip upon hover.
Any of the Recurring Reminders listed on this page can be clicked on to view more details about the corresponding Recurring Series. You can easily manage the entire Recurring Series from this page by clicking Options in the upper right and then selecting the appropriate option.
You can also easily manage any of the individual Reminder instances that are displayed here by selecting the three-dot icon at the end of the Reminder and then selecting the appropriate option.
You can even create a new Recurring Series directly from the Bills & Income Overview page by clicking the blue + Series button to the upper right of the Monthly Calendar!
Using the Bills & Income 'Cash Flow' Tab
In the Bills & Income section, you'll see a handy Cash Flow tab! This section gives you a projected cash flow based on the upcoming Reminders for each of your accounts, where each colored line represents an account, and also includes a projected balance.
You can customize the time range you'd like to view, as well as the accounts that you'd like included in the chart. You can hover over any of the circles displayed in the chart to see your Reminders for that day, as well as your projected balance for that day.
Below the chart, you'll see a list of your upcoming Reminders that are displayed using the same time range selected for the chart. You can easily manage these Reminders, such as editing or deleting them, directly from this page by clicking the three-dot icon at the end of the Reminder and then selecting the appropriate option.
You can also click on any of the circles displayed in the chart to scroll the Reminders list to the selected day, making it even easier to manage your Reminders directly from this page!
Using the Bills & Income 'All Series' Tab
The All Series tab in the Bills & Income section makes it super easy to access and manage all of your Recurring Transactions!
Note: To learn more about Recurring Series or Reminders, please see our article on Managing Recurring Transactions.
It’s important to note that Quicken Simplifi uses a different method for its yearly calculation. Instead of just multiplying your payment amount by 12, Quicken Simplifi looks at how many payments actually happen during the year. It adds up payments that have already been made and payments still scheduled this year, then multiplies that number by the payment amount. This gives a more accurate yearly total, especially for payments that don’t happen every month.
Using Refunds
The Refunds feature is designed to keep track of your expected refunds for you. Because the Refunds feature offers such flexible tools to help you manage your expected refunds, we’ve created a separate article just for it. Please see our article on Tracking Refunds.
